Joan Ngugi is our current Community Lead. She is a seasoned data science practitioner with over five years of hands-on experience in the field. Joan currently works full-time at M-PESA Africa as the Product Owner for the Big Data & AI team.

In addition to her corporate role, she  also serves as a part-time data science instructor at @iLabAfrica, Strathmore University—teaching datascience,mentoring and guiding emerging talent.

Joan is deeply passionate about helping data science practitioners bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world, making the transition into professional practice smoother, more supportive, and impactful.
